Hans Hoyer Meister 803 F/Bb full double horn with double stopping valve - nearly mint! in Worcester Park, Surrey for sale

Hans Hoyer Meister 803 F/Bb full double horn with

I am selling this fabulous horn as it is too big an instrument for the purely chamber music playing I do these days. It is a big horn with a medium-large bell throat so ideal in an orchestral or concert band setting. It makes a rich, dark sound in Germanic tradition and is an easy blower in all registers. This horn would be suitable for intermediate players onwards. It is a professional grade instrument for much less money than most of its direct competitors.
This horn was made probably in the early '90s before German reunification and is marked as "Made in GDR". The 803s are rare as most of these fantastic handmade horns are the straight 801 model 4 valve Geyer/Knopf wrap horns. I can only find one other 803 on the web selling for EUR 2600 in Germany.
This horn is in fabulous condition - tight valves, two or three tiny tiny dings and a bit of discolouration of the lacquer on the bell ring just beneath the 3rd valve slide and a small spot or two on the main tuning slide. At some stage a small dent has been taken out of the bell branch and there are a few small cosmetic scratches to the lacquer all of which I have tried to show in the pictures. But really it is in 95% new condition.
Comes with its original flat case and cover. I am asking £1650 for it but happy to haggle a bit.
I live in Worcester Park which is 25 minutes out of Waterloo on the train to the south west. Please feel free to ask any questions you may have and do come and try it.
